As more and more of us are seeking foods to enhance our dog's health and wellbeing, Wilsons offer a healthier alternative for your dog.
Their newly expanded range includes a variety of nutrient-rich raw and cold pressed foods, plus tasty treats and supplements.
Wilsons has grown from a family business to the UK’s leading manufacturer of cold pressed dog foods. It’s cold pressed and raw meals are made at its two state of the art facilities, with roots still firmly set in Scotland.
Remarkably, despite their size, they've maintained a commitment to simplicity and local sourcing with the focus on natural nutritious ingredients and the avoidance of any junk or fillers.
But what makes Wilsons special ?
Many of us love the scoop and serve convenience of dry food, but ideally we're looking for the high nutritional value associated with the more expensive raw or fresh dog diets.
Recent winners of three Your Dog Product Awards for 2025 (voted for by readers) - Best Dry Complete Food, Products You Can't Live Without and a Highly Commended for their Raw Dog Food Range, we were keen to take a closer look at their range.
Plus, Wilsons is the only company we've come across that offer both raw and premium complete cold pressed dry food ranges formulated to be fed separately or together.
As advocates of raw feeding ourselves, we were eager to experiment with combining Wilsons raw and cold pressed ranges. This approach could potentially reduce your daily feeding costs without compromising on quality (and would be so convenient for feeding on-the-go).

Wilsons Dog Food Review
1. Wilsons Cold Pressed Range
Let's delve into cold pressed dog food first.
Cold pressed dog food is a relatively new, innovative way to feed your dog. It's a dry dog food like kibble but that's where the similarities end.
Offering a fresh, nutrient rich alternative to traditional kibble, cold pressed is a gentler manufacturing process which preserves vital nutrients, making it easier for dogs to digest.
So why choose cold pressed dog food?
Nutrient-rich: Packed with essential vitamins and minerals.
Easy to digest: Gentle on your dog's stomach.
High-quality ingredients: Made with whole meats, fruits, and vegetables.
Hypoallergenic: Ideal for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Complete: Packed with vitamins and minerals, it contains everything a dog needs for a nutritionally balanced diet.
Cost-effective: While it might be slightly more expensive than kibble, it's often more affordable than fresh or raw food.
So let's take a closer look at Wilsons cold pressed range
The first thing to say is that the range includes a wide selection of proteins, so you can add plenty of variety to your dog's diet.
Allergy friendly, the majority of recipes are grain free plus there are wheat free, chicken free and pea free options -
🐟 Salmon
🐓 Chicken
🐑 Lamb
🦃 🦆 Turkey & Duck
🦌 🐠 Venison & Trout
🎣 White Fish
🏴 Haggis
🥕🥦 Vegan
🦗Insect
All the recipes are made in their Scottish factories using high quality, locally sourced ingredients and true to their Scottish roots, they offer a haggis flavour - which is incredibly popular 🏴
Suitable for dogs aged 2 months and upwards, they've also introduced a specific Puppy food. This grain free chicken and salmon recipe is perfect for growing puppies. It's gentle on their tummies and packed with essential nutrients.
If you're interested, there’s also a Working Dog range made with a special blend of protein and carbohydrates, ideal for active, working dogs.
Receiving an average rating of 75% on the Food Nutrition website All About Dog Food (AADF), I don't need to tell you this is exceptionally high for dry dog food.
One of the many things we love about Wilsons is their Sample Boxes. Changing dog foods is a big decision and Wilsons offer a sample selection so your dog can taste test all the recipes before you fully commit.
These 100g bags are perfect to test out the various recipes. The Premium range (7 recipes x100g as shown above), Working Dog (5 recipes x100g), and one for Insect & Vegan Protein (6x100g in the two varieties).
For long-term feeding, Wilsons offers convenient 2kg and 10kg bags, plus money-saving bundles. With a variety of protein options, you can easily stock up for less.
2. Wilsons Raw Dog Food Range
Wilsons complete raw dog food is available in two ranges - Premium Complete with a combination of 70/10/10/10 (meat, bone, offal plus vegetables) and their 80/10/10 range (meat, bones & offal).
Both ranges offer single source protein, grain-free recipes in 500g trays. On the nutritional rating website AADF, the 80/10/10 raw range achieves a very high 82% and the Premium Complete raw range 89%.
The 80/10/10 was the original range and this traditional blend follows a well-established formula: 80% meat, 10% bone, and 10% offal. This balanced ratio ensures your dog receives all the essential nutrients they need from a raw food diet.
A great choice for experienced raw feeders who like to create their dog's meals from scratch at home. It provides a solid base that you can supplement with additional ingredients.
For those of us that prefer to take the guesswork out of our dog's diet, the Premium Complete has been developed with the addition of vegetables (carrot, spinach, apple, broccoli and kale), herbs and minerals to the blend.
This collection offers a stress-free complete diet with a selection of high quality nutritional superfoods already added.
The range boasts 6 Premium recipes -
🐾 Salmon Medley
🐾 Beef Hotpot
🐾 Chicken Casserole
🐾 Turkey Dinner
🐾 Steak & Kidney
🐾 Lamb Tagine
If you're looking to feed your dog a variety of proteins across the month, Wilsons offer two Variety Packs - Premium Complete and Variety 80/10/10.
It's worth mentioning that there isn't currently an option to create your own variety pack by selecting individual recipes.
Wilsons offers 3 delivery size options - 8kg (16 packs), 12kg (24 packs) or 16kg (32 packs). Whilst the larger delivery works out the best value, remember to consider the freezer capacity you will need.
Looking to dip your toe in the water ?
We particularly like their Raw Trial Boxes with only 6 x 500g in a mix of recipes.
Just like their Cold Pressed Sample Box, we think this offers you a great opportunity to try their dog food before commiting to a large quantity. Better still, the Trial Sample Boxes are great value at under £20.
It's worth mentioning that delivery is free when spending over £30 or ordering a max of two trial boxes.
Once you (and your dog) are happy, you can enjoy greater savings by taking advantage of Wilsons Subscribe and Save for 10% off regular orders.
Wilsons also offer a Loyalty Club so you can get points on every purchase and then use these for money off. Loyalty Club members can receive exclusive rewards too.
3. Wilsons Dog Treat Range
A taste of the wild! Their treats are made from pure, natural ingredients – just like your dog's ancestors would have enjoyed.
These wholesome chews and treats are perfect for all dogs, whether they eat raw or cold pressed and because they're a great source of protein, they're gentle on your dogs tummy.
We love the guilt free treats as they're 100% natural and free from preservatives, fillers, allergens and junk, meaning wagging tails with no compromise.
The range includes 'Bites' which are the perfect size for training and popping in the treat bag for recall on dog walks. High value treats, they will keep your dog focused on you for repeat training or teaching new tricks.
There's also larger chews and treats such as rabbit ears, duck necks, pigs ears, chicken feet and beef liver for a longer lasting treat to keep your dog amused for hours.
The treat range comes in two size options and they're all in resealable bags for freshness.
4. Wilsons Supplement Range
As expected from a Scottish company, Wilsons includes a sustainably sourced Salmon Oil in their range.
This super-smooth supplement is a simple and savvy way to supercharge your dog's health.
We're big fans of Salmon Oil as it's a cost-effective and hassle-free way to add nutrients to your dog's diet.
Containing those all important Omega oils which boost brain power, boost beauty (skin and coat), and support joints. It's a win-win for your dog's overall wellbeing!
Available with a convenient pump top to help dispense the right amount directly onto your dog's food. Available in two sizes - 500ml (shown here) and a bumper 1000ml.
Beyond the brilliant Salmon Oil, Wilsons offer a range of four functional supplements! These natural herbal helpers are designed to help your pup thrive.
Cleverly these little bite-sized pieces are formulated with 70% chicken, so if you have a 'Goldilocks level' picky pup when it comes to tablets, these will be perfect - no more hiding tablets in cheese !
Choose from Calming, Digestive, Joint, or Skin & Coat bites to give your pup a pawsitive boost if they need it.
Depending on your dog's size, Wilsons recommend 1 – 6 chews a day (feeding guidelines are on the website and the packaging - which we should mention is resealable and recyclable!)
Our Verdict
Firstly and most importantly, Wilsons offer a top quality raw and cold pressed dog food range. Both achieve excellent nutritional ratings on the AADF website and have recently won some coveted awards.
Stand out features for us have to be those affordable trial boxes which are a fantastic way to introduce your dog to this high-quality food. Changing dog food is a big decision and we love that your dog can sample the food before you commit.
If you love their food ( and we're sure you will), their great value Raw Variety Packs and Cold Pressed Bundles are an easy way to help add some protein variety to your dog's diet across the month.
And remember, if your dog has a sensitive stomach then there are grain free, wheat free, chicken free and pea free options available.
Wilsons also understands the needs of busy pet parents. Their flexible approach allows for easy mixing of raw and cold pressed foods, making it perfect for travel or feeding-on-the-go.
Better still, if you're looking for a super affordable way to add raw to your dog's diet, you could opt to feed a combination of raw and cold pressed.
Their extensive range of high-quality, natural bite-sized treats and longer lasting chews alongside their health supplement selection means that Wilsons offer a One-Stop-Shop where you can order everything you need in one go, hassle-free.
